You are warmly invited to attend a six-session course exploring the potential for feeling more fully alive, present, and balanced within yourself and in your relationships. As author Scott Peck wrote, life can be hard. A sense of peacefulness about ourselves and our lives can be elusive, and even when it does come, it’s hard to sustain.  But the ancient wisdom traditions have shown that there is great possibility for developing consciousness and achieving peacefulness and clarity. In this course, you will learn mindfulness, 2 other types of meditation, some basics about the social nature of the brain, and ways to deal with negative thinking in order to bring forth a sense of flow, presence, and aliveness. You will be asked to meditate at least 7 minutes a day.

Instructor: David Mercier, M.S., L.Ac. is a seminar leader, an integral life coach, acupuncturist, and part-time lecturer at Johns Hopkins University where his award-winning book A Beautiful Medicine is the textbook for two courses, The Art and Science of Happiness and Medicine: An Integrative Approach. He holds an MS in organization development from Case Western Reserve University, a Master’s degree in acupuncture from the Maryland University of Integrative Health, and a certificate in transpersonal psychology from a two-year training under psychiatrist Stanislav Grof, M.D. He was also a Buddhist monk in Sri Lanka from 1975 to 1977.  www.davidgmercier.com
