PILATES MAT CLASS

8 Week Series: $120    Drop-in: $20 per class

Come to this class to connect your body with your mind, allowing your energy to flow! You will practice Pilates and Garuda exercises on a mat with precision, breath, and flow. The result will be stronger abdominal muscles, increased flexibility, more stable joints, and decreased compression and tension.

 

Introducing Jena Latham, herbalist, therapeutic touch practitioner, organic gardener, private chef, Pilates and Garuda instructor.   A native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Jena moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1989, where she began her healing journey.  She received her certification in herbology at the Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies in 1993.  In 1995 she was certified in Therapeutic Touch and Chi Gung at the Body Energy Center.  After many years of working in the herbal products industry, as an educator, crafter of products, and organic cultivator, Jena became a private chef specializing in healthy organic fare.  Although mostly self-taught, she attended intensive training in advanced culinary techniques at the Culinary School of the Rockies in 2007.  Jena’ s healthy cooking took her to Hawaii, Alaska, and San Francisco.  An avid hiker, Jena enjoyed the beautiful mountains in Colorado, and also took advantage of the myriad of movement classes in Boulder.  Jena studied yoga, middle eastern dance, trance dance, authentic movement, swing dance, salsa, tango, and Pilates.  After finding Pilates to be the most efficient method for transforming her body, mind, and spirit, Jena began her Pilates teacher training with BASI in Paris France in 2009.  She completed her comprehensive Pilates teacher training with Body Arts and Science International in the spring of 2010 in Seattle WA.   For most of 2011 Jena lived and worked in Lyon, France, where she taught Pilates in French.  In August of 2014 Jena completed her Garuda barre, seated and standing teacher certification in London with world renowned creator of the form, James D’ Silva.   She is very excited to share this flowing method which combines Pilates, yoga, tai chi, and dance.  Jena taught Garuda and Pilates in Bermuda in 2016 where she helped athletes, office workers, and busy Moms get out of chronic pain.  With over 20 years of experience in the healing arts, Jena has returned to the shore to help you along your path to wellness.   You will enjoy her calming energy and eclectic teaching style.
