This workshop is presented in partnership with The Eastern Shore Writers Association.

This workshop will feature the aspects of writing fiction based on historical fact.  Focus will be on suggested ways to develop situations and plot in order to glean further truths from history.  For the sake of discussion, students will be asked to write and share their own work at various points in the workshop.  Principles about writing will be emphasized as per the author’s own writing experiences in the publication of her historical novel, “Elizabeth’s Field.”

Barbara Lockhart is the author of two novels and three children’s books.  She is the recipient of two Maryland State Arts Council Awards for Fiction as well as a silver medal from the Indie Publishers Book Award for 2014.
For further information on the author’s work, follow the website:  barbaramarielockhart.com.  The author is also an ESWA member.

In an effort to enhance the writing abilities of local authors, ESWA will hold three workshops in partnership with Evergreen A Center for Balanced Living, two workshops at Trinity Cathedral Parish Hall, Easton, and one at the Bridgeville Library in Bridgeville, DE. These modestly-priced workshops will be held on Saturday mornings in March, April, May and June and are open to the public.
